W C Moore

Deacon WC Moore, of Dothan, AL, entered eternal rest on December 30, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.
 

Deacon Moore was born August 30, 1936 in Headland, AL to the late CW and Mattie Moore. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Emma Powe on September 17, 1955. They were married for 63 years.
 

At an early age he accepted Christ and joined Greenvalley Missionary Baptist Church (now Burdeshaw Street Missionary Baptist Church) in Dothan, AL. During several years of service at Burdeshaw Missionary Baptist Church, he became a Deacon and served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, President of the Southeast Alabama Usher Union, drove the church van. He was always the first to be at the church and made sure the church was neat and in order. Deacon Moore was a man after God’s own heart. He loved his church family as well as his own family.
 

Deacon Moore retired from Sears of Dothan, AL after working as a salesman for 36 years. After his retirement, he began driving the bus for Angel’s Childcare Academy where the staff and children loved him.
 

Preceding him in death are his parents CW and Mattie Moore and his grandparents, Gus and Essie Key.
 

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife: Mary Emma Moore; a daughter he raised as his own: Shanetha Rena Beachum (Tony); two grandsons: Jaron R. Crawford and Shaheed K. Roberts; three great-grandchildren: Raylen, Aaliyah and Shymir – all of Dothan, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
