Graveside service will be Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 1 PM at St Paul Baptist Church Cemetery, Ashford, Alabama.
Silas Wimes was born March 27, 1956 in Houston County to Arlee and Vera Lee (Lampkin) Wimes.
He graduated from Houston County High School. He enjoyed driving trucks.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Arlee and Vera Lee; his brothers: Marsen, Paul, and Robert Wimes.
He is survived by his three children: Demetris F. (Shannon) Wimes, Varonica Wimes, and Erick (Lakeshia)Mitchell; five grandchildren: Valarie Wimes, Vonshae Wimes, Demetrius F. Wimes, Jr., Emma Cook Wimes, and Madison Mitchell. His siblings Freddy (Linda) Wimes, Vera Wimes Dawsey, Bobbie Wimes, Erma Wimes; his step-mother, Elsie Wimes, and a host of family and friends.
