Life's Reflections
"To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1
Sarah Ruth Price was born March 9, 1929 to Eugene Price and Ella Eutsey in Clio, Alabama. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 11, 2018. Ruth was the 17th in a blended family of 23.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 21 siblings, and one son-Willie James Flournoy.
She received her basic education in the Barbour County School System. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior and became a member of St. Louis Baptist Church in Elamville, Alabama. She later moved to Dothan, Alabama and joined the First Missionary Baptist Church.
Ruth was an entrepreneur. She managed the Rocking Palace Cafe for more than 40 years. She was a farmer- all of the vegetables she cooked in the restaurant was grown in her garden. She was a proud and caring person, and shared vegetables with her surrounding neighbors. She was known to some as "Sarah", "Ruth" and "Baby Ruth".
In August of 2006, her health began to fail and she moved to Savannah, Ga. to be cared for by her daughter and family. God saw that His child was getting tired and on Monday, June 11, 2018, He honored her prayer and called Ruth from her earthly home to her Heavenly reward.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, JoAnn (Franklin) Polite; two sons, Randolph Flourney, Dothan, Al. and Ronnie Flourney, Savannah, Ga; 12 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, 22 Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
