Mrs. Patricia Ann Bennett Rivers, age 75 of Dothan, Alabama passed away on August 11, 2019; visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2019 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home; funeral service will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 1:00 PM at the Park Chapel AME Church in Dothan, AL; burial will be follow at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

The Gift of Life

Patricia Ann Bennett Rivers was born on September 27, 1943 in Kelley Springs, Alabama to the late Lawrence Winder and the late Florene Neal.

The Professional Life

Growing up in a Christian household, she accepted Christ as a child at the Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church in Midland City, Alabama. Patricia was educated in the Dale County school system.

The Enjoyment of Life

On July 18, 1983, she was united in Holy Matrimony to a handsome young man: Richard A. Rivers. They shared a special bond and loved each other unconditionally.

The Eternal Life

Patricia entered into the eternal arms of Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 11, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence Winder and Florene Neal; and one sister: Margaret Gavin.

A Cherished Life

Those left to cherish her memories are a loving and dedicated husband of thirty-six years: Richard A. Rivers; four daughters: Phyllis (Horace) Williams, Antoinett Mixon, Samantha (Andre) Martin, and LaRhonda (Joe) Tyer all of Dothan, Alabama; two sons: Patrick James Bennett and Richard (Nekina) Rivers both of Dothan, Alabama; two brothers: David Godfrey and Johnny Godfrey both of Dothan, Alabama; one special aunt: Annie Jewell Brown of Midland City, Alabama; three uncles: Sonnie Bennett of Dothan, Alabama, Billy Ray Bennett and Rickey Bennett both of Midland City, Alabama.  She loved all seventeen grandkids and nine great-grandkids. Momo is what they called her.  One god-daughter: Kathy Poke Cullins; one brother-in-law: Lynn Gavin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
