Otis Moore

Otis Moore, age 93 went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2018.

He was born on July 30, 1924 in Henry County, Alabama to the late Mrs. Josephine Shedfield Moore and Mr. Earnest Moore. At an early age he joined Wesley Hill Baptist Church, which later became First Missionary Baptist Church in Newville, Alabama.

Otis attended school in Henry County, Alabama. After graduation he enlisted and served in the United States Army for four years. He also retired from Bakery and Confectionery Industry, A few years after retiring he returned home where he reunited and married a formal classmate/friend Ola Mae Tullis.

He then joined Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama and served on the Deacon Board later he joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama and remained a faithful member until his illness.

Otis was a very quiet, warming and yet caring person. He enjoyed being around family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Josephine and Earnest Moore; two sisters: Tannie B. Simpson and Annie Byrd Kirkland.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife: Ola Mae Moore of Dothan, Alabama; three step sons: Roy (Kathy) Ashley of Newville, Alabama, Connie (Martha) Ashley of Headland, Alabama and Mike Tullis of Atmore, Alabama; twelve grandchildren's; twenty-six great grandchildren; two special nieces: Shirley and Julia Lowe and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. His legacy lives on.
