Mrs. Mary Alexander, age 77, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019. Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 5 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 12 PM at Westgate Church of Christ. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary Baldwin Alexander was born July 17, 1942, to the late John and Mordie Baldwin.
She was a 1962 graduate of Carver High School and retired from Sony after 25 years of dedicated service. She was co-owner of A&B Janitorial services where she worked alongside her husband. On June 12, 1986 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Marvin Alexander, Jr. in Eufaula, Alabama.
She was a member of Church of Christ, in Donaldsonville, Georgia, where she served in many capacities. Among them were Sunday School Teacher, Youth Department, Transportation, and in the words of her husband "A Good Preacher Supporter". Mary loved to travel and did not let her health keep her from hitting the road. In the words of her son Phil, "She was a very special, compassionate, and loving MOM. We enjoyed our times together". She loved her family and to eat.
Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruth and Otis Starr, Elouise and Marvin Baldwin; and brother and sister-in-law: Julius and Dot Baldwin.
Surviving Mary is her loving and devoted husband of thirty-three years: Mr. Marvin Alexander, Jr. of Dothan, Alabama; children: John Phillip (Lucinda) Baldwin, Damon Alexander, Christopher James Alexander both of Cummings, Georgia, and Katrina (Michael) Alexander Henderson of Douglasville, Georgia; grandchildren: Tianna Baldwin and Jasmine Baldwin both of Dothan, Alabama, Makayla Alexander of Ft. Valley, Georgia, Landon Henderson, Brenden Henderson and Asia Henderson; brother and sister-in-law: Darrell and Arlene Alexander of Decatur, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
