Lucille McNealy Spurling was born October 14, 1923 to the late Henry and Mamie Culver McNealy Henry County, Alabama. Henry and Mamie raise nine children: Nettie, Jim Henry, Cleveland, Samson, Mamie Lee, Walter, Lottie C., Queen, and Lucille, she was their last surviving child. Lucille was a member of Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age.
Lucille was called home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2019, after 95 years of being a devoted mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. In her early adult years, she was well known un the community to sell icy cups, ice cream cones and was a phenomenal cake baker. Lucille loved each and everyone of her family members including several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother and all siblings. She was also preceded in death by her daughters: Brenda (Sam) Vickers, Saginaw, MI and Georgia Marion, Miami, FL; her only son: Kenneth (Kathy) Spurling, Headland, AL.
She leaves to cherished her to three loving daughters: Blondell Johnson, Dothan, AL, Lue Ellen (Willie) Fleming, Saginaw, MI and Dianne (Randolph) Warren, Headland, AL; eighteen grandchildren Stanley Fleming, Dothan, AL, Don Edward (Denise) Fleming, Saginaw, MI, Timothy Fleming, Dothan, AL, Deon Fleming, Saginaw, MI, Kendrick (LaFrances) Spurling, Headland, AL, LaBrenda (Henry) Cody, Dothan, AL, Deirdre (Rodney) Miller, Suwanee, GA, Tammy (Gary) Camel, Saginaw, MI, Erica Warren Owens, Headland, AL, Juan Johnson, Headland, AL, Jacqueline (Anthony) Miles, Fayetteville, NC, Ashley (Toccara) Johnson, Dothan, AL, Kendra Dawn Spurling, Headland, AL Sheena Flemings, Saginaw, MI, Eric Johnson, Dothan, AL, Martika Warren, Conyers, GA, Sherry Vickers, Saginaw, MI, and Aliticia Vickers, Saginaw, WI; twenty-five great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; special god daughters: Sarah Lovett, Margie Campbell, Christine Gary Underwood, and Linda Glanton; special nieces and nephews: Cecilia (Jesse) Williams, Linda Hayden, James Hayden, Quince’-QT (Lisa) Turner, George (Pat) Jackson, Rose Floyd, Sharon (Irvin) Donaldson-West, Marie Mathis and many many more; very special friends: Mrs. Mary Lawrence, Mrs. Cora Danzy, Mrs. Frances McGowan, Mrs. Jessie Mae McNealy, Mrs. Linda Sampson and Mrs. Rachael Fields; and a host of other relatives and friends.
