Ms. Linda Weems, age 73, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11 AM at First Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
The late Linda Diane Weems, born August 12, 1946 in New York. She came to Dothan, AL, when she was five years old, to live with her grandparents, the late Deacon J.C. and Evelyn Mills. She, at an early age, joined the Church of God in Christ on Houston Street. Sis. Weems was a 1963 graduate of Carver High School. She, then, graduated from Wallace College with a degree in computer science.
For several years, she was employed with Dothan manufacturing.
Later, she became employed with Wallace Community College - computer science- and worked there until her death.
At her death, she was very active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a participant in several ministries.
Linda was kind, compassionate an willing to assist in any are or any projects that presented an opportunity. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Amy Johnson and Mary Colbert.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Terrence J. Weems of Atlanta, GA and Lionel D. (Katrine) Weems of Killeen, TX; four grandchildren: Aiden Weems, Janaya Booker, Janiyah Clark and Timothy Clark; six siblings: Nancy Clark, Josephin Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Georgia Johnson all of New York, Halimah Conn of Atlanta, GA and Phillip Johnson of Knightdale, N.C.; one Goddaughter: Jennifer Coleman of Bascon, FL; extended family member: Mary E. Curry; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends; her ride or die: Toby and her grandpups: Pookie, Ladybug, Baby girl and Lucy.
