Lester Harris Ward, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 16, 1952 to the late Lester Harris Ward, Sr. and the late Mary Sylvia Ward.
He was raised up in Cottonwood, Alabama and accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist in Cottonwood, Alabama. He was a high school graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in New York. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1972. Lester was always a loving, caring, and loyal person to his family and friends. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson bike, football, and basketball. He was Cam Newton’s number one fan. Lester had a true heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lester Harris Ward, Sr. and Mary Sylvia Ward, and grandparents.
He is survived by his girlfriend: Joyce Morris of Dothan, Alabama, his son: Corey Ward of Monterey, California; two sisters: Marsha (Eugene) Hudson and Sandra (Robert) Anglin of Dothan, Alabama; two uncles: John Emit Holmes of Chipley, Florida and Arthur Lee (Gwendolyn) Smith, Jr. of Denver, Colorado; one aunt: Lottie Ruth Williams of Cottonwood, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, three great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends, special friend: Fred Trawick.
