Lavana Rokiya Ward

Lavana Rokiya Ward was born May 23, 1981.

She confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Union Springs, Alabama. She was a big fan of Alabama Football.

She knew no strangers, everyone loved her and loved being in her company. She graduated from Bullock County High School Class of 2000. She worked for Walmart (Chantilly) for several years and was currently working at GKN Aerospace in Tallassee, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her uncle, James Ward; great grandmother: Mattie Simpson; and great grandfather James "Poboy" Simpson. 

Lavana was called home to glory on April 3, 2019 at Jackson Hospital.

She leaves to cherish some unforgettable memories: a loving and caring mother: Melanie Ward of Union Springs, Alabama; father: Herman (Jeanette) Jernigan of Shorter, Alabama; stepmother: Ernestine Jernigan of Union Springs, Alabama; mother/aunt: Priscella Ward of Union Springs, Alabama; grandmothers: Rubye Walker of Union Springs, Alabama and Martha (Joseph) Tyler of Tuskegee, Alabama; grandfathers: McArthur Walker of Union Springs, Alabama and Henry (Bertha) Baker of Montgomery, Alabama; five brothers: Jamie Ward of Union Springs, Alabama, Jonathan Ward of Union Springs, Alabama, Ray Scott, Jr. of Union Springs, Alabama, Trevor (Sandra) Jernigan of Prattville, Alabama and Shaquan (Jasmine) Kitt of Shorter, Alabama;
