Junior J Thomas

Junior J. Thomas, 73, of Dothan, AL, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Scott’s Chapel Hill Mortuary; Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. Peter AME Church in Headland, AL. with Pastor Kim Ray of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter AME Church cemetery. 

Junior Thomas was born in Headland, AL. to the late Clayton Jr. and Stella Thomas on February 6, 1946.  He graduated from Headland High School. After graduating, he got into the Job Corps program for a few years. Later on in life, he worked as a truck driver; but, working as a certified forklift operator for many years was his passion. On April 27, 1967 in Dothan, Alabama, Junior married Nettie Johnson Thomas.  

Junior is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Thomas; nephews, Barnard Thomas, Christopher E. Thomas, Christopher J. Thomas.  

Junior is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nettie Thomas; Children, Junior Earl (Phyllis) Thomas, Linda (Paul) McCants, Edward Earl (Tiffany) Thomas, Shahna (Eric) McReal, and Catrina Thomas; Godson, Patrick Ray; Brothers, John Robert (Delores) Thomas, Terry (Rosa) Thomas, Raymond (Lovely) Thomas, Eddie Thomas, Curtis (Catherine) Thomas; Sisters, Nancy Hobdy, Kathleen Thomas, Stella Mae Thomas; Sister-in-law, Fannie Thomas; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several other family members and friends.
