Johnny Barber

Brother Johnnie Barber, Jr. was born to Johnnie B. Barber, Sr. and Creta Davis Saffold Barber on August 13, 1961 in Dothan, AL.

He attended and graduated in 1979 from Dothan High School in Dothan, AL.  Post graduation, he joined the United States Army; serving three years.  He later worked for Howell Plywood, Dixie Fence company and lastly, Wayne Farms for nearly nine years.  Mr. Barber was also an active member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church throughout his life.

During his life he made several long lasting bonds and friendships, being the kind hearted man he was.  His last day on Earth was spent enjoying what he loved most, family and friends.

Brother Barber was preceded in death by his parents: Johnnie B. Barber, Sr. and Creta Davis Saffold Barber; a brother: Charles Larry Saffold; and stepson: Derrell D. Smith.

He leaves to cherish memory a loving wife: Phyllis Barber; children Alicia Marie McNealy and Johnny Jones all of Dothan, AL; stepchildren: Frederica Smith and Quarteds Wilson; siblings: Norman (Mary) Saffold of Dothan, AL, Helen Jean (Calvin) Darby of Luverne, AL, Harry E. Saffold, Sandra K. Barber of Dothan, AL, and Sheila Pearson of Ozark, AL; one aunt: Emma Long of Buffalo, NY; one uncle: Robert (Ruby) Barber of Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and devoted friends
