Hollis Knight

Mr. Hollis Knight, age 75, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1 PM Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Ashford, Alabama.

Burial will immediately follow the service at the church's cemetery.

Deacon Hollis Knight was born on July 19, 1944 to the late Cliff and Mildred Knight in Houston County, Alabama.  He departed this life on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: David, Henry, and Morivet Knight,

He was a graduate of Carver High School's Class of 1961.  He was employed with Adam's Trading Center for approximately 20 years and CSX Railroad for over 19 years.

Deacon Knight accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Webb, AL.  Later, he joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Ashford, AL, where he served as Deacon and Treasurer under the administration and leadership of Reverend Paul Grider.  Deacon Knight demonstrated his sincere love, commitment, compassion, and steadfast faithfulness to his church, family and friends through his inspiring spirit, support, and dedicated service to God and all mankind.

He was united in marriage with Annie Bell Turner and to this union, three sons were born.

Blessed memories will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of 55 years, Deaconess Annie Bell Turner Knight; three loving sons: Keith D. Turner and Gary L. Knight (Annie) of Huntsville, AL, and Christopher T. "Todd" Knight of Atlanta, GA; goddaughter: Chemeke Wright of Ozark, AL; four sisters: Hattie M. Hert of Dothan, AL, Joyce Foresyth of Panama City, FL, Frances E. Turner (Clyde) and Cynthia G. Evans (Roger) of Dothan, AL; sister/niece: Vivian Readus (Marvis) of Dothan, AL; three grandchildren: Ashley Nelson (Lamar), Krystian Phipps, Gary Knight II of Huntsville, AL; three great grandchildren: Landon Phipps, Lamar Nelson, Jr., and Ashton Nelson of Huntsville, AL; in-laws: Ruby Knight and Joann Floyd Knight of Headland, AL, James Turner of Louisville, KY, Willie R. Turner (Brenda), Ruby Turner, and Kenneth Turner (Priscilla) of Ashford, AL; a host of other relatives and friends.  Special friends: Deacon Lynwood Crittenton and Mr. Harry Saffold.
