Fannie Lee Jones was born in Headland, Alabama to the late Henry and Leola Coleman. She was the eighth of fourteen children. In 1942, she married R. C. Jones and from that union, they had nine children.

Fannie worked for many years at Southeast Alabama Medical Center as an x-ray technician. After retiring from SAMC she traveled and spent time with her five generations of family and friends.

Fannie was an active member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church for many years. As well as one of the founders of New Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Where she served as a choir member, matron, and the order of the Eastern Star.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: R. C. Jones; four daughters: Dorothy Thompson (James), Shellie Jones, JoAnn Jones and Angela Jones; four sisters: Maude Coleman, Rose Dickerson (Sam), Bernice King (James) and Lucille Watford; four brothers: Claude Coleman (Lena Mae), Willie Coleman (Annie Lee), James  Coleman (Annie Bell) and Eddie Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Annie Neal (Joe), Linda Jones, Snow Carmack (Charles), Theodis Jones, Danny Jones (Mary) and like a sister: Judith Barnes (Aaron); one brother: Johnny Coleman (Marvella); In-laws: Paul Jones (Geraldine), Gladys Coleman (Eddie), Ella Morris, Annie Lee Jones (Manes), and Lorene Jones (L.C.); one hundred and seven grand's, great grand's and great-great grand's; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
