Eddie Gene Jones

Mr. Eddie Gene Jones transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 22, 2018, after a courageous battle with a long illness. He was born to the late Albert and Evie Lee Jones on December 22, 1941 in Dothan, Alabama. Eddie was a long tome employee of Carpenter Technology in Stratford, CT where he worked as a crane operator. After relocating to Dothan, Alabama, Eddie worked as a Security Guard for DSI. Eddie spent his free time gardening, cooking for his family and watching baseball. He loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets play. Eddie was given a firm foundation of faith by his parents at Parks Chapel AME Church. When he returned to Dothan he became an active member of the Male Chorus and the Treasurer for the Sons of Allen.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Albert and Mrs. Evie Lee Jones and one sister: Mrs. Carrie J. Pinckney.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son: Kenneth Jones of Pembroke Pines, FL; daughter-in-law: Ms. Althia Bradley of Miramer, FL; two grandchildren: Kenneth Jones II and Alexis Jones; three sisters: Nettie P. Bryant Janice (Jerome) Blackmon of Dothan, AL and Susie Milligan of Birmingham, AL; four brothers: Carlos (Collis) (Eula) Jones of Atlantic Beach, FL, Wallace (Lillie) Jones of Pensacola, FL, Edgar (Alberta) Jones, James Earl Jones of Stratford, CT and Reverend Johnny (Ernestine) Saffold of Dothan, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
