Dorothy Allen

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Allen, age 73, of Dothan, AL passed away on July 4, 2019; visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019 4-6 PM at the funeral home; graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 11:00 AM at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Dorothy Jean Allen was born on October 17, 1945 in Tampa, Florida to the late Johnnie Jumper and Mildred Butts-Jumper. 

She grew up in a Christian home and lived out her faith through her giving spirit to her adoring family and the community. She graduated from Carver High School in Dothan, Alabama. In 1969, she married the love of her life, Arthur Allen, Jr. She was devoted member for fifty years at the Greater Beulah Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.

Dorothy was employed at Oscar Sandwich Shop and also for twenty-five years she work at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. 

She preceded in death by her husband: Arthur Allen, Jr.; and both of her parents.
 

She departed this life on July 4, 2019.
 

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted son: Jason D. (Tracy N.) Allen; two grandchildren: Jadon and Jacobi Allen of Dothan, Alabama; four brothers: Jerome, Marion, Theodore of Florida and Sylvester Jumper of Texas; one sister: Robbie Price of Florida; five nephews: Jerome and Michael Huntingdon and Keith Price of Florida, Johnnie, Lamar, and Keith Pitts of Alabama; five nieces: Joyce-Ann of Alabama, Tonia Pitts of Chicago, Francis Pitts of Florida, Tiffany Harris of Texas, Bridgette and Michelle Jumper of Florida; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
