David Reynolds Life and Times

Mr. David Reynolds, age 70, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Monday, January 6, 2020.

Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11 AM at Sardis Baptist Church, 11901 Fortner Street Newton, Alabama 36352.

Burial will immediately follow the service at the church's cemetery.

 

 David was born on May 22, 1949 in Headland, AL to the late L.B. and Ida Mae (McCloud) Reynolds. 

He graduated from Headland High School in 1967 and attended Wallace Community College receiving a certificate in small electronic repair.  

In May 1969 he joined the United States Air Force and was deployed to Vietnam, Korea, and Indochina shortly after completing Basic Military Training and Technical School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, graduating as a distinguished graduate as a Law Enforcement Specialist.                                                  

He was later assigned to Minot, South Dakota before he chose to separate from the Air Force after six years. During his military service he received two medals for valor, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.  

In 1965, he married the love of his life, Ruth Nunnally. In 1966  they welcomed their son, Timothy L. David and Ruth lived together almost inseparable for over 46 years before her death. David loved music and cars, but above all was an avid sports fan and reader.  

David was a strong, proud, compassionate, and quiet  man who had a courageous  spirit, humble heart, and was a man of few words. He was loved and will be truly  missed by all!

He is preceded in death by his Wife (Ruth), Son (Timothy), Father (L.B. Sr.), Mother (Ida), one brother (Neddie), and one sister (Dora). 

David L. Reynolds of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Flowers Hospital.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by a daughter: Chanita Hawkins; one grandson: Brandon; three brothers and six sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
