Bobby Lee (Hawkins) Sterling

Bobby Lee Sterling was born on January 31, 1944 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Freddie Lee Hawkins, Sr and Mary Ann Guilford Hawkins.

As a young child, Bobby was a member of The Church of God in Christ in Dothan, Alabama. It was there she accepted the Lord as her Savior. Later, she joined North Highland Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. In her elder years, she became a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She was educated in Dothan, graduating from Carver High School in 1963 and was employed as a house keeper by Davis (Susan) Malone and Archie (Laurie) Carmichael.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: Reiders White, Sr.; and a nephew: Curtis Hawkins, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her sons: George Andre Sterling of Dothan, Alabama and Donyell "L'Adair) Sterling of Greenville, SC; four siblings: Elaine Dixon of Charlotte, NC, Freddie (JoAnn) Hawkins of Dothan, AL, Karen (Willie) Stallworth of Rehobeth, AL and James (Betty) Brooks of Midland City, AL; three grandchildren: Kaitlin Reese of Greenville, SC, Danyell Reese of Headland, AL and Keyandra Sterling of Gordon, AL; a godson: Calvin D. Butler of Dothan, AL; two special friends: Susan Malone of Dothan, AL and Laurie Carmichael of Dothan, AL; and a host of nieces,nephews, relatives and friends.
