Arthur James Tellis

Mr. Arthur Tellis, age 81, of Union Springs, Alabama passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 08, 2019 from 3 PM to 5 PM at Poe's Memory Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 09, 2019 at 12 PM at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.

Mr. Arthur James "Bubba" Tellis was born on August 4, 1938 to the late Annie Climmie Tellis and the late Fess Baskin in Bullock County, Alabama.

"Bubba" received his education at Bullock County High School System in Union Springs.  He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Bruceville Community.  He was married to Verae Harris in 1970 and to this union there were two daughters and moved to Saginaw, Michigan and return back home to Union Springs, Alabama.

Bubba was preceded in death by his parents and on sister: Ida Bell Tellis Pritchett.

He leaves to cherish two loving daughters: Theresa (Luke) Sturdivant of Union Springs, Alabama and Doris Tellis of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters: Gladys Tellis and Clara; brother: George Thomas Tellis of Union Springs, Alabama; three brothers-in-law: Milton (Ruby) Harris of Rochester, New York, Arthur (Vicky) Harris of Saginaw, Michigan and George (Glendora) Harris of Saginaw, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren: Quinn Tellis, Chante (Gregory) Wrenn, Precious King of Saginaw, Michigan, Luke II, Lukel, Luk'Arthur, Luk'seith, Luke'zekiel, Luke'Viticus, Lu'King, Lu'Ernest of Union Springs, Alabama; seven great grandchildren: Madison, Lavaiah, Ka'Leeah, Chan'Teah, Lailah, Gregory, Jr. and Journeii all of Saginaw, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
