April Speed

Visitation for Ms. April Speed will be Monday, June 17, 2019, at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church from 10 AM to 11 AM.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 AM, June 17, 2019.

April Dale Speed was born on April 16, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Arthur Speed and Evelyn Speed.

She joined Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama at an early age. April graduated from Northview High School class of 1987 in Dothan, Alabama. 

April was dedicated to human services and worked in the health field. She was very passionate about her education. She received her associate degree from Enterprise State Community College in Health Information Technology in 2011, Associate degree in Health Information services from Colorado Technology University with honors in 2013, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Phoenix University in 2017. She was active with the Youth Department, the Missionary Department (Pearls) and was a member of the Youth Choir.

My family and friends would say that I was a kind and caring person. Three words used to sum up April’s life would be: live, love and laugh. She was a phenomenal woman, a loving daughter, and a good wife. She was a hard working person. She enjoyed living life, love to travel, and she was very active in church. She was a great aunt and god mother. April was a beautiful person inside and out. She was also a good cook in the kitchen, and a great fisherman at the pond. She was well known for having the best house parties. Everyone that knew her would say that she was one of God’s little angels always willing to do anything she could to help someone in need.

She was preceded in death by one brother: Mannix Speed.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother: Evelyn Speed of Dothan, Alabama; her father: Arthur Speed of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother: Tony Speed (Kimberly) of Latoria, Georgia; a special niece: Gabrielle Ward; and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins and other relatives and special friends.
