Robert Powe, Jr. Life and Times

Robert Powe, Jr was born in Baysprings, Alabama to the late Robert Powe, Sr. and Carolyn Harris on February 05, 1959. He resided in Dothan, Alabama until his date of sunset. Over the years, he works at Rebwood, Inc. and Wayne Farms.

Robert or “Robertss”, as the great-grandchildren calls him, loved to play with him and his nieces and nephews. He was a dance machine with his signature dance of moving his legs. Robert was a character! The simple things in life he enjoyed such as playing dominoes and tunk with family and friends.

On a day-to-day basis, he never missed an episode of The Price Is Right or CSI with his dear wife. One of his favorite sayings that he would say to his granddaughter MyIesha was “You are boring to me, and I am boring to you” when she is getting on his nerves. His “Kara Jean,” as he would call her, gave him his first grandson. Before she had her son, he had a fit about not having a boy in our small family. When he found out that she was having a boy, he was so excited! When “Karr Jean” is called to do something, he would say, “Now you know that girl is not going to budge, she ain’t gone do nothing but look at you.”
He was very proud of his family and did everything possible for his family. He put his daughter Amy through college and often talked about how proud he was of her. He often let her know how much he loved her, and he did not mind telling anyone, “I know I can call my daughter Amy for anything.”
He also called his daughter April aka “Lottery Partner” when he needed a ride to the Florida State Line! She would answer every time he called for whatever he needed. He would call her, “Big Blok” I need you to take care of something for me!”

His friends gifted him with many nicknames, but the most common was “Baldie.” If you knew “Baldie” he loved to joke and laugh. For instance, “Don’t pay me no rabbit, just one of my habits.”
Most of all, over 40 years, he cherished and loved his devoted wife, Nora. They were inseparable and NEVER left each other’s side. The life they spent together was full of love, laughter, music, and dancing. When you see one, you would see the other. There’s not a day that went by that they were not willing to give to others.
Robert Lousie “Baldie” Powe, Jr. will NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

Robert is proceeded in death by his parents Robert Powe, Sr and Carolyn Harris of Dothan, Alabama. His siblings James Nathan Harris and Brenda Griffin of Baysprings, Alabama. His special longtime friends Bernard Mathews and Michael Hollis of Dothan, Alabama.
