Marion Johnson, Jr. was born September 14, 1936 in Pike County, Alabama. He resided in Dothan, Alabama and transitioned into heaven on May 5, 2017.
Mr. Johnson attended Ashford High School and joined the US Army. He was employed by Houston County Sheriff Department and Retired from Covan. Mr. Johnson devoted many years coaching softball at Lincoln Center and also Coaching Adult League Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marion Johnson, Sr. (Vera) and Addie Pearl Miller; two brothers: Willie James Copeland and James McSwain; one sister: Alma Coleman and Mary Lee Johnson; grandchildren: Tekeyell Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Cynthia Hammonds, Dothan, Alabama, Tony (Shirley) Johnson, Desota, Texas, Marilyn (Charles) Freeman, Ashford, Alabama, Copelynn (Willie) Bennett, Ashford, Alabama, Billy Johnson, Dothan, Alabama, Marion III (Portia) Johnson, Grovetown, Georgia, Cynthia (Jerry) DeBose, Dothan, Alabama, Jacklyn (Kelvin) Artison, Columbia, South Carolina, Tony (Doris) Davis, Dothan, Alabama and Arthur Durrel Baxter, Huntsville, Alabama; twenty-Six grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; one special granddaughter: Jackyria Johnson, Columbia, South Carolina; three loving sisters: Hattie Lee Copeland, Syracuse, New York, Cora Newton, Enterprise, Alabama and Lucille Thomas, Tallahassee, Florida and a host of special nephews, nieces, cousin and other relatives and friends.
