Mrs. Lueverne Brooks was born on March 21, 1947 in Auburndale, Florida to Cassie Mae Neal and the late Quin Neal, Sr.

She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 11, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Balkum Baptist Church of Headland, AL where she remained an active member until her health declined. She was educated by the Henry County School System in Haleburg, AL.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Homer Brooks, Jr. on January 24, 1964 and to this union four children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Homer Brooks, Jr.; son, Henry Lee Brooks; father, Quin L. Neal, Sr.; stepfather, J.T. Flucker; sisters: Martha Danzey and Annie Brelove; brother, Quin Neal, Jr.; and great-grandchild, Montrez Thornton.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories three children: Carolyn (Ken) Harris of Headland, AL, April (Breion) Douglas and Christopher (Latoya) Brooks of Dothan, AL; mother, Cassie Mae Flucker of Abbeville, AL; daughter-in-law; Dena Michelle Baker; three grandchildren: Jonathan Q. Thomas, Clarissa L. Robinson and Kadence A. Brooks, of Dothan, AL; four siblings: Juanita Neal and Betty Neal of Hartford, CT, Geneva (William) Guilford and Brenda (Terry) Thomas of Abbeville, AL; special brothers-in-law: William Guilford and Jeffrey Brooks; special sister-in-law, Annie L. Brooks-Hogan of Flint, MI; special niece, Andrea Brooks-Mills of Abbeville, AL, and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
