Deacon Eddie James Alford was born to the late Webbie and Johnnie Mae Alford on August 14, 1934.

At an early age he joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health began to fail.

A long provider for his family, he was employed with meadow gold until they closed, had his own ice cream truck and later retired from Selma Street Elementary School.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother: James Edward Alford; brother-in-law: Floyd Wilkerson; and sister-in-law: Jeffie Alford.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving daughter: Sandra Fleming; a special friend: Malinda Clark; sister: Janice Wilkerson; three grandchildren: whom he loved dearly: Kiana Smith, Kamron Higgins amd RaShawn Fleming; two great grandchildren: Jakira Faye Smith and Chyna Ja'Niyah Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
