Dorothy Holston was born on December 5, 1943 in Dale County, Alabama to the late James Bryant, Sr. and Florance Rowe Bryant.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed.

Dorothy joined in marriage to James Earl Holston, who preceded her in death and to the union two children was born.

She was preceded in death by her sister: Ruby N. Bryant; and a niece: Dana Hammock.

She leaves to cherished her memories two daughters: Sylvia L. (Johnny Jones) Pratt of Dothan, Alabama, Cynthia G. (Charles Baxter) Holston of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother: James (Dinah) Bryant of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three grandsons: Corey and Brandon Holston of Dothan, Alabama and Joshua Holston of Atlanta, Georgia; three great granddaughters: Brantaisha Holston, Alisa Holston and Makayla Johnson all of Dothan, Alabama; one niece: Tammy Wilson of Dothan, Alabama; two nephews: Terrence Bryant of Dothan, Alabama and Jermaine (Chanetta) Bryant of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three special friends: Carlene Spencer, Jessie Readus and Ann McGhee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
